The site is (for the second time) up and running!
I’ve been busy painting again, and this is my current project. She’s not quiiiiiite done yet. This one has been an adventure in using colors that I was definitely sure would ruin the entire thing. Sometimes you just have to trust that a piece is going to come together and work eventually.
Colors aren’t always what you expect them to be, especially in the case of animals. Grey is purple and what you think is green is actually orange. Color and light are relative. That’s one of the great things I’ve learned from the process of glazing. It can sometimes be a little scary applying what looks like an absurdly bright color to the canvas, but the final result is very satisfying.
Being this close to the completion i a painting is sometimes a little maddening. It can be difficult to know when to stop or if something needs just one more layer.
